My Life is Like an Ocean

Sometimes it moves with ease,
Gently rippling as peace swims by
Sometimes it’s harsh and rough,
And the furies of storms are unleashed
But, slowly it calms
Returning a sense of peace
For I like these calm, open waters
These are my good days when all goes right
But the stones and storms I despise
They mark the struggles in my life
Twisting, turning, tumbling
Up and down
Left and right
Swaying in the midnight light
My life is like an ocean
