"If I cry a little, and die a little, at least I know I lived just a little" -Let Me Fall, Idina Menzel

I am what I am,
And I am a sibling to someone with Autism.
I have learned from him
Acceptance, respect, and understanding,
Patience, hope, and selflessness.
I am what I am,
And I’m a little screwed up myself.
I don’t talk much,
I sometimes fail to see the good in life.
I know what I stand for.
I want people to see beyond my brother’s disability.
I want people to accept people like my brother.
I am what I am,
And I am a daughter.
I have a mother crazy with stress,
And a father who doesn’t care.
I am what I am
And I try to be a good sister,
Daughter, student, friend, musician, actress, advocate.
And sometimes it’s hard,
But I carry on,
I carry on.
I am what I am,
And I’m not sure what I am,
Beyond just the sibling.
