Equality
The world is a sorry place
When a child sees what others can’t
That the world changes
When hard times befall
People turn cruel
And accuse
And judge
And all love is soon lost
Except that of people who can see
The real aspects of life:
All people are equal
Love is colorblind,
People are not
Equality is an undefined word
In the vocabulary of the ignorant
Only when we accept the truth
Will we truly be free
But that is fantasy
A dream that may never come true
In reality people die because of lies
And out of fear that soon morphs into hate
Just as a mockingbird copies what it hears
So do people,
Mocking the cruel words of prejudice
