Wishes

Some people wish their lives away.
We wish for things we do not have-
Money.
Fame.
Beauty.
Sometimes we wish for
Impossible dreams,
Where the dead sister comes to life,
Or we relive the past in a different way.
Everyone wishes.
Everyone dreams.
But why do we waste away,
Longing for things that do not come?
Why don’t we look to the now?
Enjoy what’s here?
Why can’t we fight
And make some of those wishes
Come true?

I love this poem, wishes and dreams are beautiful things.  But they can't always become true and you shouldn't waste away dwelling upon them.

this is so true!! And very direct about what we do in our daily lives. I guess the reason why we wish is so that we can continue are little fantasy fairytale since we were kids. And in a way never grow up . And i love your comments :)
