When Two Are One
Two sets of footprints do we leave,
Imprinting the dirt with our blackened feet.
Memory left behind with every step,
With every breath.
The silence has said everything we cannot speak;
My heart beats for you and yours for me.
We are one.
One path, one love, one thought.
This place is ours.
Here, our love grows alongside the trees,
Their roots forever intertwined,
Feelings pulsating.
And when ashes are one with the soil,
And we no longer walk in this place,
Footprints may erode away
With time and nature's course,
But, still, our memory will remain.
Still, the silence will speak.
And our love will forever grow,
Here, alongside the trees.
