Music is poetry that speaks to the soul
when heart and mind are in disagreement.
Notes and rhythms come together in blissful harmony
as the weight of the world is lifted from my shoulders.
Letters. Words. Phrases—flow together as if one,
dancing to the sounds of life and love.
Poetry is these sounds.
The rain on the windowsill,
the wind through the trees;
softly singing me a lullaby.
Please—
don’t stay silent.
Please—
don’t quiet the songs.
Music is poetry,
and poetry is everywhere.
