Salvation
Tap

    tap

    tap

 The sound of her feet

 echoed,

  bouncing

 off the walls of

 the narrow corridor.

So young, so innocent, so clueless.

 At only 15,

 she ran.

 Her raven black hair swiftly

 rippled

 behind her,

as the wind hit her being,

 pushing her back.

  The tile beneath her, pristine,

 with no sense of impurity,

 reflected her heart.

 The silence

 watched as she dashed,

 ran from a following

 intruder.

  The tall ceiling cascaded her

 with colors,

 as the sun's warmth,

 pierced through the colored glass.

Her presence thought to be unknown,

 as she trespassed this

 faintly

 familiar place.

The painful silence was broken by

 her's.... and another's footsteps.

  A second pair of taps

 swiftly flowed through,

 increasing her heartbeat,

 shortening her breath.

 Paranoia overcoming her senses.

  The menacing presence

 The dangers of being caught

 her heart sunk as the

     distance

 decreased.

His words traveled across the hall

 towards her.

  "And you are?"

  He drew out a weapon,

 intricate, with a familiar shape,

 and charged

 just before

 disappearing

 into darkness,

 entering the void.

  Driven off by light.

 Unknowing light, as another

 trotted into the tensed space.

 The key to salvation
