Acting Out My Life

I'm acting out a scene,
But I don't know the lines,
He's ignoring me again,
She's staring at me too hard,
I turn around,
I'm dying to make my exit,
But the curtains won't close,
The audience is leaning in,
I'm under so much pressure,
My smile is frozen on my face,
As I avoid his eyes,
He can't take anything from me,
Unless I let him.
I won't let him,
I laugh too hard,
At a joke my friend tells,
No one would ever know,
I'm so uncomfortable,
Acting is my shield,
And my smile my sword,
I want to get out of here,
Feel like a deer in the headlights,
Or it is a spotlight,
That's blinding me now?
I'm so much better than this,
At least I pray I am,
But I'm still falling back,
To what I keep putting behind me,
But I keep my head up,
He can't take anything from me,
Unless I let him,
I won't let him....
End scene.
