One Flower

One

delicate flower,

completely

alone

all by itself

footprints scattered around

one

weak and droopy stem

clouds towering and staring straight down

sun beating with powerful rays

ability to burn and take away

bright, hot, and dry days

go by like gentle and soft waves slowly coming to shore

leaves are dry as the desert in July

covering the ground with a thick and crumbly blanket

nearly burrying the flower

this flower stood out like a bright blue, sparkling gem

thirsty, dehydrated and deprived of water

helpless, but at the same time,

strong.

One drop of water, or maybe a few,

is all that is in need

waiting and wishing for such a simple thing...

each gust of wind makes ths fragile and lonely flower droop down a

little

bit

more

every time...

looking up at the gloomy sky

desperately hoping for rain...

Dry and broken- eggshell looking clay

became rich, chocolate brown mudd

and this dried out flower became healthy.

standing up a little bit taller and straighter

Petals became brighter and livelier

no longer scrawny and sick,

but strong and cheerful.
