"You never know what you have until its gone"
Lizzy and Jacob were best friends,
Everytime together, all you can hear was whispers and giggles
From who they had the butterflies for,
Or all the juicy details going on in their lives.
Jacob was breezing by life
Easily,
Close to how boats just skim on top of the water smoothly,
Until Jacob’s parents told him the news.
His eyes drooped, shoulders slumped,
if Jacob’s whole body had an off button,
then it just got punched.
The soft breeze from the hot air now chapped Jacob’s lips.
The thought that he was moving tumbled down on him,
That’s when his smoothly sailing boat crashed
Unexpectedly,
Just like the Titanic did.
First thing that came to mind was Lizzy,
They were like humans and water;
Unable to survive without each other.
Jacob marched over to Lizzy's front steps,
His face told a story that he’d have to walk off a plank into a tub full of sharks.
Finally, Jacob reached Lizzy,
The weather still ice cold, or possibly worse,
And when Lizzy's joyful smile of seeing Jacob erased.
Her tears turned into Nile River.
And Jacob, clueless,
Grabbed Lizzy’s hand, and pressed his lips with hers out of instinct.
Jacob’s lips that used to be so chapped,
melted.
