Once they come out of the box,
Brand new,
They are loved,
And they love.
Once they are placed securely on the foot,
They dance.
They leap through the air,
They are brushed across the wooden floor,
they feel the music and show it,
Hopping, turning, flying.
Once they are tucked away,
They are silent in the dark,
Waiting to come out again.

To dance...

The author's comments:
I have loved to dance all my life. Ballet is my passion. I have written multiple poems about dancers or upon that subject, but this is by far my favorite. Hopefully you like it too!
