Wings to Spread
My eyes that follow down below.
How to fly, I want to know.
Below my feet is solid ground.
Surrounding me, I hear no sound.
It’s just us, my mind and I.
My simple wish is just to fly.
To spread my wings to soar up high
What’s left behind, I’d say goodbye.
I’d clear my thoughts, I’d clear my mind.
I’d leave my past just far behind.
My hands do tremble at the thought
But brings the joy I never got.
To feel the wind upon my face.
My trail, I’ll go at my own pace.
My wings to spread, my lifelong goal.
I want it with my heart and soul.
So there I wait upon the top.
This dream of mine will never stop.
Until I see my wish come true,
I’ll wait right there to see it through.
