Promise & Secret
Look to the sky and what do you see?
Your face staring down at me
As if you were the Cheshire cat
If only you knew
On a winter day
The only thing that compares your laugh
Are chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Although I’ve never seen you cry
I know you must’ve sometime
And when you did
The world turned upside down
And rain tore from the heavens
Whenever I am near you
My world becomes merely fate
And my engine turns a switch
As to run on pure emotion
I have never seen you dance
But I know it must be divine
From the rhythm of the pace you walk
I can picture a moonlit night
I have never seen you scared
And I know you must’ve been
Because you are a sensitive soul
No matter if you won’t admit it
If ever you get scared
I will break from your arms
And my love will become wings
Because I know your secret
O, hero of the future
For I am no Guinivere
And you have far to go
Before you are Arthur
But, I can see it in your eyes
Which are icy and tumultuous as a storm
And are as calming and gentle as the waves
And your soul
Which is that of a racecar driver
Determined as a racecar driver
Never take your eyes off the prize
But you have one fatal flaw
You never notice the road
And who happens to be waiting
Waiting for Gadot for so many years
Only to be ignored at every lap
When will I leave the road?
Only time will tell
And he doesn’t know.
