The teacher walks to his black board
picks up the eraser
and wipes away yesterday
equations and functions
litter his walls
pictures of students past
grace his desk next to the picture of his dog
he has no wife, no love
he sits at his desk and taps his pen
he has a free period
20 minutes until the bell rings
20 minutes before he'll grab his keys
20 minutes till he'll say goodbye to no one
hop in his car and drive
he'll go home and cook
a microwavable meal
give his dog half of it
grade some papers
and go to bed
