Flying through the deep unknown,
A galaxy of bubbles arising from my air tank.
Fish scatter from my presence,
I push forward.

Delving upon the deep unknown
I am a scuba diver,
Floating in silence,
Breaking it with the sound of my breath.

I take a look above me,
And there lies nothing but a shimmery light.
The place I came from,
And will go back to.

I’m being enclosed,
By wrinkled rocks
And tangled kelp.
Rising above me like mountains.

Then something magical happens.
I make eye contact with it.
A small blue fish, whispering
“Some beauty.”

Looking closer,
Gazing in awe.
I think,
How these tiny worlds survive.

Exhaling, I don’t have much time.
Temptations to go on,
Wondering what lies ahead.
But that is what makes it so special.
