"Yet if hope has flown away, In a night or in a day, In a vision or in none, Is it therefore the less gone? All we see or seem, Is but a dream within a dream. . ." ~Edgar Allan Poe.

It is the sound
Of the wind and the ocean
And it is silence

It is the sight
Of a bird in flight
And it is stillness

It is the feel
Of a gentle hand
And it is numbness

It is the scent
Of wild flowers in bloom
And it is untraceable

It is the flavor
Of a ripened fruit
And it is tasteless

All can sense it
Few can understand
Some can create it

This is something a friend dared me to write. A poem about poetry. I like her style.
