Generational Gap
Children of the revolution
raise your glass
and cheer.
We've found ourselves
rear-ended by the future
and the "apocalypse" is near.
It is such a fine time
to be alive and kicking
(or, I guess, in most cases,
all that's done is clicking).
The Internet has rid us
of pesky social chat;
I'm sure your parents are oh-so-happy
for the fact of forgetting that.
All the hard work and demonstrations
has won the war for nothing.
We have it all, no need to
talk, learn, associate...I'm bluffing.
I'm totally lying.
This information age we run
leaves those who worked sighing
and shaking their heads at what we have
created from their passions:
An empty screen with no vowels
and conformity as the fashion.
Somewhere along the line
we lost the moral discretion.
Uncensored, uncaring,
ignorance is the obsession.
Close your eyes, ignore the news
and pretend it doesn't matter.
Generation I-Don't-Care
leaves those who do with chills and blues.
