The moon exactly how it is tonight
That's how it ought to stay.
No going back, no racing forward.
Just here, enjoying the day.
No anxiety about what tomorrow brings.
Or regrets gained from the past.
No worries about all the little things.
Nothing to hold us back.
Our lives move forward,
Things will change,
But some things will remain.
The moon exactly
how it is tonight,
That's how it ought to stay.
