I Will Never Fall
I’m tired
I’m tired of being called a goody-little Christian girl
I’m tired of being told I’m uptight, that I’m no fun
Just because I won’t take a drink
Because I won’t pass your roll of intoxication
Because I won’t give my body to a boy who wouldn’t even talk to me the next day
I’m tired of being strong in the face of temptation
And undeterred by the butt of your hatred
But this battle has already been won and my faith will give me the strength I need
I will never fall
Will never take that drink
Or grab that high
I will never give what is rightfully mine away as if it were spare change
