Seeing a thousand impoverished children,
Only now do I see.
Hearing a thousand women’s anguished cries,
Only now do I hear.
Tasting the sweetness of the grain from the enslaved,
Only now do I eat.
Smelling the sweat from a worker’s brow,
Only now do I smell.
Touching the hearts of millions,
Only now will I love.
