I write differently from what I speak, I speak differently from what I think, I think differently from the way I ought to think, and so it all proceeds into deepest darkness."
-Franz Kafka

In a place that is dark and dreary
My body weak, my heart is weary
The darkness around me was bleak and haunted
But, strangely, I found my mind undaunted

I saw, in the distance, a glowing light
The darkness lifted to my delight
Its fiery blaze burned in my chest
The sadness left, I'm no longer depressed

The light lingered, the darkness gone
I knew now nothing would go wrong
I looked forward and made haste
I needed to get out of this dreary place

I was inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's poem The Raven, and wrote this based on my interpretation of his tone. I hope you enjoy!
