Friday night,
In the middle of everything,
Lights on,
Facebook glowing on one monitor,
StarCraft 2 being played on another,
Music in the background,
The television on,
My brain barely registering the stimulus,
Every visual input stimulated to overload,
And I’m nothing.
Perfectly centered in the universe.
Surrounded by a sea of signal.
And I’ve made it,
The perfect getaway.

The author's comments:
This piece was inspired by some of the activities my friends and i pursue, as even though we would be considered amongst the "popular" crowd, we prefer video games to drinking and parties.
