My soldier
He is there when I need him
But he has to go away
He has to serve his country
And be there for everyone
To help protect our freedoms
My soldier
The one who loves me
Has to be gone for a time
And maybe not come back
Alive
My soldier
He knows I care
I stay home
And provide
But he is gone
Time after time
It is the ones at home
Who have to be strong
And carry on
No matter what
For there soldiers
