Breathing

I walk the hallways of school,
Much like a robot in an assembly
Line. A friend catches my depressed
Manner, and I begin to breathe.

I open my textbook to last night’s
Homework. Looking upon the work,
I see grail; combinations of nothing
Made into something. I rip out
The pages, and begin to breathe.

As I leave the school, I feel
Liberated and freed. Short lived;
As a yellow monster enters my
View. In unison we leave the school,
And I begin to breathe.

The monster and I head down
an icy road. A sudden turn sends
us into the local river. I swim away;
toward the bottom, and breathe.
