Moment of silence

The world is hushed once the sky gets dark
Blankets of clouds cover any rays of light
Birds flock to a safe and familiar place
Trees try to remain standing as the winds thrash them sideways
Thunder roars and shakes a once still and quiet home
Lightning cuts through the sky like a sharp blade
There is one commanding, final roar
And the world continues on in commotion again
