You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love.
Henry Drummond

I found this beautiful dress
in a old chest
in a old attic
in a old house
on a beautiful dress in April

It was lilac
it felt good to touch
light on the fingers
and it looked on me too
fit me perfectly

I put it on
And on the stroke of midnight
As the bells tolled
I became a faerie

I remember hearing the bells
then seeing a whirl of glitter
then I transformed
into something so beautiful
so tiny and precious

I was much smaller
but more beautiful and powerful

I could become invisible
and I had wings!
beautiful
sparkly
W I N G S

I stood on the windowsill
and flied

I flew to the meadows and valleys
the air smelled so fresh
and the flowers so crisp

I flew up into the heavens
sat on a cloud
and watched the world go by

I stared into the stars
closer than I've been before

I basked in the full moon

Then as the sun began to rise
my powers began to rise
and I flew back down
down to Earth
down to
H O M E

I know it sounds stupid but my grandma gave me this dress on my birthday that is just very pretty and it feels great on me and it honestly makes me feel like a fairy. So I just let my imagination go!

I don't think your idea is stupid at all. After reading several faerie books, I always dream of having wings of my own. You have an incredible imagination and a lot of talent. Please read, rate, and comment on my poems! Thanks!

I don't think it's stupid, in fact I know exactly what you mean. I found a dress once and it was amazing... it made me feel amazing. I love this poem, do you think maybe sometime you could check out some of mine?

It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

This was like a dream I wished was real.

My goodness, I can't imagine that there is anything of worth that sounds less stupid. I do believe that this is my favorite of your work; the story, the language, I'm simply in love with it. It's wonderful to just "let your imagination go," isn't it? That's how you're able to fly! This is such a great poem! :)

This is so, precious, just like a tiny lilac fairy, not unlinke the fairy-you you describe in this poem. I'm very glad that you can let your imagination run wild :)
