Coming Out of the House
An hour a day
To get to know you
A minute or two to break right through
Walls of insecurity fall down easily
from what I've seen
You're asking for all I've given
I take nothing back
I give nothing more
I've loved your persona
Your charismatic charm
Yet you refuse to take my arm
And walk down the crowded street
Are you not proud of who you are
Your back is straight but your head is down
You say you are not strong enough
I say you need not fear
Breaking out of the closet is one thing
But opening that front door
And not only taking your first steps
But choosing to walk that path
Facing the judgment of others
sometimes even their wrath
All I ask is that if you do
I will gladly walk with you.
