Look in the mirror and what do you see
Who you really are, or
Who they what you to be.

Do you put on a mask
One that grins and lies
Hides you cheeks and shades your eyes.

One that covers what you really feel
And puts on a smile when you want to cry.

One that hides your hurt like a band-aid
Even thought the cut is still there.

Or is the mask you wear meant to change rather than hide.
A mask that like plastic surgery
Used to mold and to manipulate on the outside
But on the inside…your still you.

It’s the inside that really matters
Who cares if you are beautiful and strong on the outside
But on the inside you’re an

UGLY, MEAN, MESS of a person.

And when you look at yourself than are you ok with what you see?
Are you willing to compromise the inside for the outside appearance?

But take off the mask
It’s not going to be perfect
But at least it is you.

The real you can be broken and falling apart
But you look in the mirror will you see the way
God sees you …as defiantly beautiful.
