A Scale Unbalanced

Innocent lives abruptly expired
one by one
silently, desperately, ceaselessly
regarded as nothing more than ants
squashed by a mere footstep

but these were humans
withering away in the darkness
too hungry to speak
too weak to move
the world shocked by the power
of their oppressors

Nazis
looming, demanding, suffocating
Nazis
black and red, fear and blood
severe hatred for the helpless
one goal so desired, everyone forced to pay

nothing is wicked enough
no one is evil enough
to share this label
a Nazi is not just any source of repression
not just any bane, bully, or insolent

it is more loaded than that

to use the word as an insult
is simply offensive
not only to those who suffered
but to those who survived

there is no comparison
between the dreadful years of demon rulers
and the strict regulation of everyday affairs
there is no comparison
between Nazi Germany's dictator
and the president of the United States

the scale is unbalanced
the truth of the word Nazi
outweighs the fallacy
enormously, consistently, justly.

I wrote this poem after hearing the word "Nazi" being used as an insult. I believe that this is a very loaded insult, and the word should not be used unless describing the Nazi party.
