My sea of flames
May 9, 2011
Constant striking of the keys gives way
to the heat that ignites my scalp.
Desks creaking and slamming of car doors
fuel the fire inside my skull.
The trumpet of a horn outside my window rushes air
into the blaze that is my brain.
The keys are silenced,
cooling the inferno.
The creak of shuffling in desks is dampened
as everyone scrambles out of their desks,
sterilizing the fuel.
The horn is diluted by the increasing distance,
smothering the sea of flames within me.
