Remember how we met. We became
friends and I was always there when
you needed me. Remember all those nights
you called me, crying your eyes out.
I sat with you and soothed you, just to see
you walk away once more. Remember how I
still was there for you and today as I am kneeled
before you to ask for your hand in marriage.

I thought about one of those classic love stories where perhaps a friend falls in love with another friend and is too worried to say something until he sees her walk away.
