"Up yours white girl", my papa procalaims,
His joke was a shot that missed the aim,
My mother laughs,
i smile because this a real family,
We sit and joke about my sister at prom,
How she'll be a stunner in her deep purple dress,
I smile because I know this a real family,
My sister sits sick with a cold,
We complain that she kept us up all night with her sniffles,
I smile because I know this is a real family,
Rotten Jokes,
Unruly pokes,
Ever present loyalty,
Never pending trust,
The love confined in these for walls cannot be held,
We love each other,
I smile because I know,
This is my real family.
