Reaching Through
Lightly we drip
Eyes closed, steaming
Dancing on halos
That cry, breaking
Everything we see
We blind ourselves
Because a word breaches
And into our hearts, delves
Drifting into sleep
That whispers dreams
Like words on this page
Useless through the reams
Until everything is waking
And life becomes sweeping dust
Losing far more than this
Reflecting a body of rust
Expressions escaping grasp
As pain becomes an illusion
When it implies normality
But shines through fusion
Crushed listlessly together
Destructing beautiful dissent
Superficial and cutting
Feelings that were lent
And so here I stand
If I stand at all
Destitute on memories
Of a single hopeless call
