The Hell I know
I jump into the clenches
Of the freezing hell of
The high school pool
The sanitary landfill,
Full of peoples hopes, dreams and aspirations
With a 100% chance of pain
It’s a rivalry renewed with the devil,
The water laughs and consumes my body
I come up to the surface
Still unprepared for what’s about to come
But now it’s time,
Take a deep breath, close my eyes
Bang
I start moving, yelling silently as I turn over my hands,
All the while, the hell that I know keeps mocking me,
Laughing because it knows that I’ve just started
And this is his turf
Moving through the clear smooth water
The liquid moving like a tsunami around my body
Eating at me, trying to break me
I feel alone in the crowd of people
Knowing that I have myself a dark victory
