The red velvet curtains open slowly
Her heart starts beating out of her chest
She’s more nervous then she’s ever been before
The soft inspiring music starts playing
And she slowly begins to glide across the stage
Twirling, twisting, bending
Showing off the long hours of hard work
Her tiny, delicate feet hit the stage,
It sounds like the wings of birds at dawn
And she spins like the wind across a lake
She runs across the hard floor
And gently leaps into her partners strong, muscular arms
And he lifts her flexible body into the air
You can see the sweat trickle off his forehead
And together they take over the stage
Peacefully dancing to the music
After a long while the song comes to a close
They strike a pose and smile big as the audience cheers loud
She takes a deep breath and quickly walks off stage
The lights dim and the curtains close.
