Salt Kissed

The water licked at the shore
it tickled the sand,
leaving treasures behind,
salty hills toppled
an eager race began.

A gentle lull,
the peaceful rhythm,
every so often interrupted
they smoothly crashed,
things strewn in their path.

I watched in content
as they tagged at my feet
and far in the distance,
I saw them twinkle in the sun,
the waves.
