Dealing with backstabbers, there was one thing I learned. They're only powerful when you've got your back turned.

You've got enemies? Good. That means you actually stood up for something in your life.

I sat there, listening
Listening to the hateful words you screamed
Screamed at him, my only brother
He screamed back, slamming his door
Slamming it in your face
Your angry face that I see as I run into my room as you dismissively walk away
Walk away, not knowing how this will effect me
Me, you never noticed me
Noticed my tears
Tears that I pushed away, rushing outside
Outside into the rain
The rain that makes my wet face seem normal
Normal didn't work for long
Long is how much time I spent crying in a friend's arms
Arms that are always open to me
Me who has no brother anymore

This is a completely true poem. I was sitting at home when my mom and fifteen year old brother got into a huge fight. I ran into my room and cried right as my brother started crying. I couldn't take it so I ran outside. I went to the park and met my friend there. I cried in her arms for a long time, I don't know how long. I know that she's always here for me.
