Love?
Love, whispered among friends
 Something spoken but never seen
Felt only in the heart, they say
The girl, confused, lies and agrees
“Yes I too, have felt thee.”
But in truth love is as mysterious as Nancy Drew to this little girl
More like a rumor than a fact
Love, something that supposedly keeps her friends’ lives intact
So then is her life broken?
 She wonders,
 Useless and drab?
Because love has never entered or set foot on her path?
 She suffers silently
 Never willing to question aloud
Scared of her friends and how it will sound
 Desperate?
 Immature?
 Ignorant?
(She was none of these things)
No better to lie than to take the risk of losing her friends
Who are sure to look down rather than assure her,
That her life is still sound.
