Tide sweeps in;
Like illusion evolves
And why must I ponder
Why visions begin?

I desire your harmonious eyes
Like the gay waves of the ocean;
Not sadistic-
As the crash of the shore on rocks
They illude to an end
Of the infinite beginning
The beginning of what is everlasting?

No! Do not thunder on my land
Be not violent to His Creation
But be slowly my purity-
A low tide- a representation of good
A crashing lightning upon shore
Be not that O' sweet sea

Sweet sea of mine:
Hold my heart as if
It were the ocean's mellow symphony
You are my tide-
You swept in,
And you swallowed my heart

Poem that compares the speaker's lover to the greatness of the sea
