Cherish what you have now because you never know when it will be gone.

Given by the young girl,
A lock of hair was cut.

Ten to twelve inches,
Bundled up in a pony-tail,
A lock of hair was cut.

Growing the hair for several months,
Wanting to cut it,
But knowing it was for a good cause,
A lock of hair was cut.

Locks of Love,
Given to cancer patients for wigs,
A lock of hair was cut.

Done in honor of a grandmother with ovarian cancer,
A cousin with leukemia,
A friend with breast cancer,
A lock of hair was cut.

Tears fall to the ground,
As the young girl realizes why she did it,
And a grandmother knows the love behind it,
A lock of hair was cut.

I was inspired to write this for those suffering from cancer and those donating hair for Locks of Love to help make dealing with cancer a little easier.
