Beautiful, Sweet Paper
They ask why I cry but with venom on the tips of their tongues. I keep quiet for fear of their poisonous bite. But I will pour my heart out to you, sweet paper.
I cry because I am so, so tired. I hurt mommy and step father never stops screaming; not even to take a breath. Never sees good, only fault. I cry because I'm stong enough to hold back the tears. I cry because I can't stop crying. I cry because I keep doing wrong, not having the will to do right, and no more strength to try.
But most of all I cry because I want everything to stop and it won't.
Beautiful, sweet paper... you're the only one that sticks around to listen... but you can't make the tears stop.
