I saw humanity
in a cloud one night
–it was about 9 o’clock–
as I was lying on
a park bench and
as I stared at it
the cloud, thick as fog
and as opaque as white,
split into

t wo.

The author's comments:
I thought this poem up one night when I was actually laying on a park bench. I had relationships and marriage on my mind.
