The Wait Is Over
The twenty-five minutes are painful.
I need to get there quick, I need to purchase that guitar.
It’s waiting for me I know it, the guitar I’ve been avidly dreaming about.
Rushing into the store I savagely search for it.
I ask a worker to help me find it.
It catches my eye when he points to the corner where it lies.
It was in a box calling my name.
I pick it up and whip out my money.
I can’t wait to play it.
A beautiful guitar and exactly what I have been waiting for.
The ride home however was more painful then the one there.
I sit shifting and itching to play.
I look over the seat into the trunk jumping with excitement.
It haunts me I just can’t wait.
When the car comes to a stop, I rush into the house begin playing.
