Wet MAG
maybe I’ll stand in the rain today
after school, this evening
and feel that really deep kind of wet,
the sort that weighs you down
a hundred pounds
the blinding grayness will swallow me
while unthreatening little droplets slap the pavement
and sprinkle my feet with chills,
but I’ll barely notice
because I’m already drenched.
maybe I’ll stand in the street
to watch the steam rise off the rumpled pavement
and warm my bare feet,
or challenge the sky
to a game of chance.
maybe
i’ll just stay inside
and watch the storm from my dry window.
but then I would miss out on all the wonderful wet.
