It creeps through the sky
Slowly taking over the day along with my soul
Something about it I just don’t know
It’s mysterious and enclosing
But you can’t get away even if you wanted
It’s here to stay
Some find it frightening but to me it’s exciting
I never know what comes over me
But it’s fascinating
I sit and wait till the wee hours of the night
Then I stop I take a deep breath
Look up at the sky
It’s quiet so I take the moment for myself
I look up at the stars and moon and search my soul for the true person within
Some nights I find her others I’m not so lucky
But the nights that I do I feel whole
Then the sun rises and my day starts
And it’s a good day because I know that later it will soon be night again
