A sweetless taste of mistakes that were made
Hangs with the thousands of flowers and words that are laid
The dull hum of the hymns and the sharp bells and the cries
The flap of the birds’ wings as they soar above in the skies
Sweeping away the tears and the rain
To soak back up in the sky and remain
The sun dries the rain and the tears and the sad,
Refreshing the hearts of those that are glad
Their lives will continue but added with grief,
Love is collected but then snatched by a thief
Like a rose that is wiltered, neglected, unloved,
Its petals torn off and in a box shoved
The past stays solid but the future shines bright,
The pain that remains is masked with a light
The bitter taste of the world is soon washed away
By the light that shines hope each day after day.
