Favorite Quote:
"If everybody was satisified with himself there would be no heros"--Mark Twain

A broken heart has no color—
It is the absence of color;
It is darkness, itself.
A broken heart feels like the Death of Hope—
It is the end of a most beautiful dream;
It is the crushing of life, itself.
A broken heart tastes like ash—
It is the tears not shed
And death, itself.
A broken heart feels like the absence of air—
It is a choking pain,
A torture without relief.
A broken heart looks like a shattered, broken mirror—
It was scattered and forgotten on the dusty old floor,
Never to be loved or cherished again.
A broken heart is black,
Black as darkness, itself.

The author's comments:
Recently, my sister had a poetry jam at her school. She created a book comprising of some of the works she has done this year. When I flipped through the book, one poem stuck out. Entitled "The Color of Lonely," it the feelings and emotions no nine-year old should have to endure.
