Disheartening Motion

April 19, 2011
On March 11th at the (38.322°N, 142.369°E) latitude
Plates shattered, entrails revealed, the earth wobbled
On its axis rotating
An unfelt dizzying rate
This obvious
constant motion of life
opportunities, people, places
Relationships evaporate, the empty expanse
that is existence
Worries, troubles, and insecurities
trespass minds, pilfering humanity
Previous expectations sink
the scathed anchor scrapes bottom
fire charred
Winters turn to Summers
Summers to falls
With each turn of the axis a new peril ensues
Engulfed in dark nothingness hands sprawl along hearth
Last words are uttered
Darkness envelopes the tangible, leaving the intangible to slowly rot like a parasite without a host
Death, a snarling beast, ravages the tender loins of lost hope and distress
Little flames wallow in blowing wind
Struggling to resist the brunt hand of nature
Most adorned of castles, most rudimentary of homes
Indiscernible, crumbling in the same heap
The Wave of Despair reaches its crest; humanity, brushed away like a painter clearing his canvas
