Of Flight and Gravity

Its this feeling of flying that cannot be matched,
Reserved for the birds, alone.
Weightless and falling and soaring with them
Could fill any person with love.
Its that feeling of joy
When you jump and you shout.
Just like that is flying
With more feeling throughout.
But gravity, gravity keeps us all down.
We sit in our homes and pout.
I’ll tell you my friend what you already know.
This is not what life is about.
Held to the ground
By the things that we do,
Wishing to be
Like the great birds that flew.
