Does He Know?
Does he know the smiling face everyday
Hides everything that I wish I could say
Or that behind the made-up, green-blue eyes
Lay a thousand, stupid regretful lies.
Dos he know late at night, I wonder how
I got here, and what's keeping me here now
Or how badly I really wish I could stay,
But I know the right thing to do is walk away.
Does he know my words are chosen so carefully
When all I really need is to speak free
Or that every night, tears wash my face as I sleep
Asking how I could have gotten in this deep.
Does he know that I place all the blame
On myself for causing him all this pain
And if there's one thing I really wish he could know,
It's that I love him enough to let him go.
